Learning and knowledge creation process in students are heavily mediated
by their gender. Based on this fact some of the sessions are intended
to initiate open discussion and brainstorming on how the issue of gender
and technology playout in our society. And we are trying to see
technology through the lens of gender.
Most of the Engineering students are not aware of the importance of FOSS
and the FOSS based tools created under it. Inorder to familiarise them
with the nuances of FOSS, we are conducting this as a train the trainer
kind of program. The trainers who get training from this programme can
be used as ambassadors to impart the ideas to their friends in their
respective colleges. There will be classes on Free Software,
Programming, Expert talks, Film Screening on Free Software, Interactive
fun games etc. in this programme. We hope that there will be more
bonding between the students to transfer the ideas of Free Software at
the end of this programme.
Food and accommodation expense of these selected students will be met by
ICFOSS. They will be provided with a participation certificate.
