ICFOSS in its mandate to promote free software and hardware across the state is organizing its 5th season of “Back-to-Work” Residential Program for Women in partner with the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC), Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM) and Zyxware Technologies, Technopark, Trivandrum.
Join us from March 1st to 19th, 2023 at the Sports Hub in Green Field, Karyavattom for this program on “Software Development using Drupal”. Drupal is a widely-used content management software that is open-source and flexible in its design. With a thriving community of over 1,000,000 developers, designers, trainers, and more, Drupal is a leading platform for building dynamic web experiences.
This 15 day long residential program is an initiative to empower a large number of talented and ambitious women, who remain outside the workforce owing to marriage, motherhood, local constraints, family commitments, pursuit of personal passions etc. Quite often, due to personal and family responsibilities, women choose to opt out from their career. Later, when these women decide to restart their professional journey after a break, they are apprehensive and could move with guidance and hand-holding. Taking a break from work can be a liberating & daunting task for women. In this context, ICFOSS is offering an opportunity that allows women, who have taken a break from their career, due to personal commitments, to restart their career in various free software domains. It offers a profusion of second career options so that women can choose to return to work, one baby step at a time or bounce back with double the vigour.
Back-to-work is an intensive training in free software domains, and this time bringing you an opportunity to learn Drupal. The program aims at reviving the professional career of women.
ICFOSS has successfully conducted the last three seasons of the program, and there we were fortunate to successfully secure employment for 75% of participants in esteemed multinational corporations such as Ernst & Young (EY), Tata Elxsi , UST etc. With the growing interest and excitement around Drupal in India, where it is the fourth-largest country for Drupal firms, this program aims to provide women with the skills and resources they need to re-enter the workforce and make a meaningful impact.
To create systemic pathways to facilitate the re-entry of women into the workplace.
